FOR HUNDREDS OF YEARS DANA POINT HAS BEEN A STAPLE FOR THOSE WHO LOOK TO THE SEA. FROM RICHARD HENRY DANA, WHO PIONEERED THE REGION IN THE 1830'S, TO THE RENEGADE SURFERS OF THE 1950'S WHO SURFED THE WORLD FAMOUS BREAK 'KILLER DANA' THAT ROLLED ACROSS THE BAY THAT NOW HOLDS THE HARBOR. YEARS LATER, THE CITY STILL HOLDS ITS WATERMAN CULTURE AND IS ONE OF THE MOST COVETED DESTINATIONS ON THE CALIFORNIA COAST.

Beaches

Strands

Strands Beach is the closest and most accessible beach that sits just below the condo. You can park at Strands Vista parking lot just down the street to access the middle stairs, or simply take path closest to the condo to access the southern part of the beach (locals favorite). It is a great place to relax and play in the waves, as well as explore the tide pools.

Salt Creek

At Salt Creek Beach, a small, offshore reef creates some of the best left swells along the entire Southern California coast, making this a favorite destination for the surfers. Swimming, body surfing, sunbathing and tide pool exploration offer fun for the whole family. Located just north of Strands.

Doheny State Beach

Of all the Dana Point beaches, Doheny State Beach is the most iconic. Long before Dana Point became a town in 1989, surf enthusiasts loaded up their cars and parked directly on the beach for a day of catching waves, sunbathing and beach bonfires. It is a great spot to learn how to surf and it offers many other activities including volleyball, bike riding, bonfires and more.

Baby Beach

Of all the Dana Point beaches, Baby Beach is the calmest. Nestled between the Dana Point Harbor and the Ocean Institute, the jetty blocks waves from disrupting the water. Locals will tell you there is no easier place to bring kids. It is aptly named to reflect its status as the best beach for babies and young children.
